Our Founding Chairman Vefa Canbolat
Vefa Canbolat, the founding chairman of PESKA Art Association, was born on October 29, 1984, in Kelkit, Gümüşhane, Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education in Bahçelievler, Istanbul. In 2007, he graduated as the second-ranking student from the Department of Public Administration at Trakya University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. He completed his master's degree in 2022 at Trakya University, Institute of Social Sciences, in the Department of Management and Organization.
Vefa Canbolat has been actively involved in various fields of art and culture since 1991. He has played significant roles in folk dance, theater, Turkish folk music, Turkish classical music, and literature. As both a performer and an instructor, he has contributed to the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage through numerous projects and activities.
Starting his journey in the arts as a folk dancer in 1992, Canbolat received training in vocal performance, repertoire, and bağlama between 1997 and 2000. From 2000 to 2003, he studied theater, and between 2004 and 2007, he served as an instructor of Zeybek and Edirne regional folk dances at Trakya University. He was also active in Turkish classical music projects during 2006–2007. Since 2010, he has been working professionally as a folk dance trainer and has participated in numerous cultural institutions and performances.
Since 2007, Canbolat has worked in the private sector and currently serves as a business analyst and project manager at a private company. Between 2021 and 2023, he held the position of chairman of another cultural and arts association based in Pendik, Istanbul.
Since 2023, he has continued to lead PESKA Art Association as its founding chairman, actively contributing to the fields of art, education, and cultural development.
